Easy Watermelon Sorbet

May 14, 2022 by Barbara

Easy Watermelon Sorbet

Our watermelon recipe series continues with this easy watermelon sorbet. There’s no ice cream machine needed for this one- all you need is a food processor or blender to break down the watermelon. Serve this as a sweet treat on those hot summer days and enjoy this favorite summer fruit. Plus, it only takes five minutes to make with just three ingredients!

Tip: your watermelon will need to be frozen for this recipe, so we recommend freezing your watermelon chunks for at least 48 hours beforehand. Or, visit the frozen foods section of your local grocery store for pre-frozen watermelon.

Watermelon Chunks

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups frozen watermelon chunks
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1-2 tablespoons of water

How-to:

  • Add your watermelon chunks to a blender or food processor and pulse until blended. Your watermelon should look chunky, like shaved ice.
  • Add your lime juice and pulse to blend with the watermelon.
  • If your sorbet is too thick, add a little bit of water at a time to thin it out.
  • Serve and enjoy!

The sweetness of the watermelon combined with the tartness of the lime is the perfect sweet treat to beat the heat. If you find the sorbet could be a little sweeter, add some agave or honey when adding the lime. We recommend 1 tablespoon to taste, and add more as you go. Serve this watermelon sorbet right away or add it to ice molds and freeze for 1-2 hours for frozen sorbet pops.
